This restaurant place used to be called La gran sorpresa but the name changed to La Cazuela, please be aware of this. The food is so good, so homey, so delicious. I don't have enough words. Go for the seafood for sure. The fish with coconut sauce is so great. Miss Fanny is so professional and she makes sure every dish has her heart in it

New owners. Food was great and the waiter (Roger) was very attentive. Will recommend you anyone wanting good Columbian food. Will def be back.

Excellent Colombian food ...the owner is the cook she is from buena Ventura and the seafood is amazing ...the place itself is ok but the cooking is great I drive from the woodlands (originally from ny) just for her cooking !

Under new management! Over the past months la gran sorpresa has been getting remodeled. The restaurant has been re-named La Cazuela. There is still a way to go with thebut the place is looking much better and the food is fantastic!! Try the empanadas of course! But also try the fried fish and fish soup, the bandeja paisa, and the sobre barriga, those are all our favorites and there is more dishes left to try.

I was able to try the empanadas that were brought in to my job. It was the best thing I've ever tasted!!!! I have never had Colombian empanadas before so I didn't know what to expect. It was a crispy pillow of delicious meat and potatoes that just melted in your mouth. The salsa verde was perfectly spicy and just brought everything together. I had to come back and get more that won't be shared with my co-workers the inside of the restaurant feels like someone's living room. It was cozy and the owner is super sweet.

Walked onto Richmond Avenue while my car was getting fixed. It was getting kinda hot outside so I decided to walk into the first decent place I see and grab a snack/drink; and this place was it. Wasn't too hungry so I ordered some Yucca Fries and mango juice so that I could sit there for a while and believe me, I was amazed! The Yucca fries tasted really fresh, with the perfect amount of crispiness and a bit soft on the inside. They served some ground chili paste on the side which was unbelievable! I had the mango juice in water (I don't know what other kind they offer, the lady just asked me 'Water?' when I asked for the juice and I thought she meant water on the side with my meal as well, so I nodded Yes : l), and it turned out to be super refreshing and cooling, which helped on my 1 mile walk back to the mechanic's! Definitely need to go here again and explore the rest of the menu.
